What cookies are
Cookies are small text files set by your browser when you visit a site. They serve a range of purposes from keeping you logged in (essential) to remembering your language preference (functional) to counting unique visitors (analytics).

Categories on this site
Kaalveda uses three categories: Essential (always on, required for the site to function), Analytics (Google Tag Manager — see section 5), and Advertising (set by Google on the public pages that carry ads — see section 6). Analytics and advertising currently load without asking first; there is no consent banner on this site today. Advertising is never loaded on your account dashboard, the astrologer portal, or any checkout page.

Essential cookies
lbase_session: the signed session cookie, which keeps you logged in and holds your language choice. XSRF-TOKEN: cross-site request forgery protection. Both expire when the session ends. These cannot be disabled because the site cannot function without them.
Section 04
Functional cookies
Your language choice (English, Hindi or Tamil) is stored in the session cookie above, and on your account record if you are signed in. Preferences of this kind contain no identifier that follows you anywhere and can be cleared from your browser at any time.
Section 05
Analytics cookies
We use Google Tag Manager (container GTM-WDB4GZLQ), which loads Google's measurement scripts and sets Google's cookies. These record how pages are used — which pages are visited, from where, on what device. There is currently no consent banner: these scripts load on every page rather than waiting to be asked. You can block them in your browser, and you can limit what Google does with the data at google.com/settings/ads and myactivity.google.com.

Advertising cookies
This site carries Google AdSense on its public pages — articles, calculators, guides. Google and its partners set cookies to serve those ads and, where you have not opted out, to personalise them based on your previous browsing. You can switch personalised advertising off at google.com/settings/ads; it applies across every site that uses Google ads and you will still see ads, just untargeted. Your chart data is never passed to an advertiser. What we still do NOT use: Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, FullStory, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap, or any third-party retargeting of our own.
Section 07
Your controls
Browser settings: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and that is the control that actually works here today — there is no on-site consent banner to revoke. Google's own controls: turn off personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads and review what Google holds at myactivity.google.com. Account settings: clear "remember-me" tokens. Note that disabling essential cookies will break the site — you will not be able to log in.

Changes
If we add or remove cookie categories, this Policy is updated and active accounts notified with 30 days' notice for any material change to analytics or tracking.
