Graha (literally "that which grasps") refers to the nine celestial influencers in Vedic astrology: Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangal), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Brihaspati / Guru), Venus (Shukra), Saturn (Shani), Rahu (North Node), and Ketu (South Node). Each graha rules specific signs, houses, and life domains. Vedic astrology does not include the trans-Saturnian planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) used in modern Western astrology.
