A kundli (kundali) is the Vedic birth chart drawn from the date, time, and place of birth. It records the sidereal positions of the nine grahas (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu), the 12 houses (bhavas) relative to the ascending sign (lagna), and the divisional charts (vargas — D1 rashi, D9 navamsa, D10 dasamsa, etc.). Used for personality analysis, timing (dasha system), marriage matching (gun milan), and remedies.
