How is my lucky number actually calculated?

Your day of birth is reduced to a single digit for your Mulank, and every digit of your full date of birth is summed and reduced to a single digit for your Bhagyank. If you add your name, its letters are converted to numbers using the Chaldean system and reduced the same way. Each result is matched to its ruling planet, and that planet’s traditional number, colour, day and gemstone become your lucky elements.
Will my lucky number help me win the lottery or at gambling?

No — and we wouldn’t want to suggest otherwise. Lucky numbers in numerology are a traditional, reflective lens on which planetary energies are prominent in your birth date, not a system for predicting random outcomes like lottery draws or games of chance. Why do some numbers show no lucky day?

Rahu (4) and Ketu (7) are shadow planets in Vedic astrology — mathematical points rather than physical bodies — and the seven-day week has no day dedicated to either of them. Rather than inventing one, we simply show no day for those two numbers.
What is a Master Number, and does it change my lucky elements?

Master Numbers (11, 22, 33) are kept intact rather than reduced further, because tradition treats them as carrying amplified significance. For lucky colour, day and gemstone, a Master Number’s reading still follows its base digit’s planet — 11 follows the Moon (2), 22 follows Rahu (4), and 33 follows Venus (6).
